- What is Sim Pimp?
- Simpimp 1973 is a video game. A game that takes you back to the crazy times of the
1970's. A time period that many feel should be forgotten, but will not because
PHATNESS has decided to relive those times in the most awesome Pimp Simulator of all time.
- Storyline:
- Born and raised in a small town, you grow up constantly wishing you were doing bigger
and better things than what your hometown could give you. At the age of 18, you decide to
move to the city where you can persue your secret, lifelong dream, to become a Big City
Pimp. After arriving at East Side, with $500 you can not wait to get started carving your
niche in this ripe city.
- Incorporated Features:
- The Man -
- Finally get back at the Man, who has constantly watched over your shoulder to make sure
nothing you do conflicts with his intrests. To learn more about the man, consult the
experts...Afro Squad
- Multiple Personalities -
- Choose from 5 different characters. Each have their own style and background.
- Anti-Politically Correct Concepts -
- Hoes are your lifeblood. They provide income you use to build up your social appearance.
Buy off law enforcement officials and government agents to protect your investments.
Employ bodyguards and hired thugs to practice gorilla warfare on your enemies and friends.
- Network Possiblities -
- Play against an unlimited number of oponents, each trying to be the biggest and most
stylin' pimp. This will be incorporated into Sim Pimp 1973 version 2.0.1.

Updates

- Okay, we are on a roll. We are close to posting an actual playable demo. About all it
will entail is the basics of the game. Not much but at least you'll be able to get a
general idea of what its going to look like. I do have to say this engine kicks ace.
'Course that could be because I wrote it. I'll put up a description of the actual game
play and maybe some screen shots in a litte bit. Right now you can get more info and talk
to the actual developers on Simpimp's list server. Subscribe to it here.

- Well lookee lookee, there's actually an update. Its only been almost a year since I
threw all the old work aside and switched to DirectX. It seems when you disregard school
and all that's important in life, you can make huge steps in the development process.
We've gotten a shiet load done in the last couple of days. That's not saying much though,
cause I still can't release a playable demo. The game engine is still in its infantile
stages. Right now a much better windowing and event handling system is being worked on. I
can't say yet when something will be released because this new system for the game engine
is going take awhile. But hey, I promise to have something worthwile before 2010.

- Well, I have some apologies to make to everyone who has heard me talk about SimPimp. It
seems that work has really gotten behind on this project. Its been over a year since we
started. Unfortunately, I'm going through withdrawals at the moment. With Microsoft
totally eliminating DOS in their new version of Windows, I'm forced to unlearn, what I
have learned of the ancient and glorious ways of the DOS programmer. I must now master the
dark spirits of DirectX programming. Anyways to make a long story short, I hate Bill
Gates. Oh yeah, one more thing, Sim Pimp WILL LIVE!

- Just got done meeting with the person responsible for the whole SimPimp concept. He has
started working on the story board and it looks worthy of the title PHAT.
- 5/18/98
- 2 more pimps have come to life. Sketches are in the process of being scanned and
colored. Game Logic is in its first stages. I can't wait to get out of school and put more
time into this.
- 4/13/98
- Art work has officially started. 3 Preliminary pimps have been drawn and are looking
extremely good. A couple music scores have been started. Programming is underway, using
the new FastGraph 5.0 Library. Startup screens and the main menu has been done.
